In memory of Maestro Lorin Maazel
A year ago in a sad day in mid-July we bid farewell to Maestro Lorin Maazel: the more his absence has become day by day palpable, the more we realized what was the extent of his artistic legacy and at the same time how in the music world there’s a strong desire to keep this legacy alive. Under this light, I am particularly thrilled to come back to Castleton Festival on July 19: it will be like breathing the bequest of his immortal yearning, not only a way to honor his memory but also to pay a debt of gratitude that I owe to him eternally.
What excites me and honors me most is the possibility to live these emotions with one of the greatest conductor of our time, Maestro Fabio Luisi who will lead me and the Castleton Festival Orchestra in Rachmaninov 2nd Piano Concerto.
